For factories that manufacture garments on a large scale, it is often necessary to purchase large quantities of fabrics. These fabrics are usually colored, but these colored fabrics can generally be divided into two types, namely yarn-dyed and dyed. It is difficult for those who do not understand fabrics to distinguish between these two kinds of fabrics. Let me introduce to you, what is the difference between these two kinds of fabrics?
Yarn-dyed fabric: For fabrics woven with dyed yarn, dyed yarn is generally divided into two methods: dyed yarn and dyed yarn. Generally speaking, yarn-dyed fabrics refer to fabrics woven with shuttle looms, but knitting machines can also weave colored yarns.
Dyeing cloth is produced by professional dyeing equipment: packaging, sewing, singeing, desizing, oxygen bleaching, mercerizing, shaping, dyeing, finishing, pre-shrinking and shaping to produce grey fabrics (woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, etc.). The finished cloth is dyed cloth.
Yarn-dyed fabric is dyed with yarn, the same multi-color yarn color configuration, combined with reasonable weave effect, to produce fabrics with certain patterns and colors. Yarn-dyed fabrics usually come in the style of gingham and striped fabrics. Generally, woven fabrics, like some of our men's shirts, have stripes and checks. Most are yarn-dyed, but there are a few exceptions. At this time, you can look at the reverse side of the cloth. If the reverse side also has some light plaid or stripes, it's yarn-dyed. If there is nothing, white, it is dyed cloth. For knitted fabrics, weft knitted fabrics generally have more horizontal stripes.
The dyed cloth is made of embryo cloth by printing and dyeing, and there are piece printing and piece printing. Piece printing means that the pattern of the whole piece has been formed on the machine. Patchwork prints are partial patterns, like some of our clothes, some are one piece. The whole piece is covered with prints, and if it's just on the chest or arms, it's a print.
The difference between these two fabrics is mainly in the dyeing process and sequence. For yarn-dyed cloth, the cloth is woven from dyed yarn, that is, before making the cloth, one needs to pre-dye the yarn to make the cloth. For dyed fabrics, one does not need to pre-dye these yarns before weaving them into such fabrics, the dyeing process of such fabrics only begins after the fabric is woven.
